Pat Croce Biography

Pat Croce is an American entrepreneur and former owner of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers. Originally hired as a physical therapist by the 76ers, Croce would go on to start the Sports Physical Therapists business, growing it into a multi-million dollar corporation before selling it in 1993. In 1996, Croce was named the team president of the 76ers after buying the team with Ed Snider and Comcast, turning the 76ers from a last place basement dweller to a top ten team, reaching the NBA Finals in 2001. Eventually, Croce left his role as team president, and although he still remains a partial owner, does not have any control over the basketball operations. After leaving the team, Croce would go on to invest and start many businesses, including a pirate museum, a colonial history museum, Islands Dog Bar, and many others. He has also written various books about his career, and does part time sports broadcasting for NBC.
