Patrick Marleau Biography

Patrick Marleau is a forward for the Carolina Hurricanes. Marleau also played two seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs after building a legacy as arguably the greatest player in San Jose Sharks history. He is the franchise's all-time leader in goals, even strength goals, power play goals, points, shots and games played. The Sharks originally selected Marleau with the second overall pick in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. He is a three-time NHL All-Star and two-time finalist for the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy. In 2016, he became the 36th player in league history to play 1,400 games. San Jose only missed the playoffs twice in his career. On the international side, Marleau has represented Canada in four World Championships and he has won Olympic gold medals in 2010 and 2014.
