Petra Kvitova Biography

Petra Kvitova is one of the best tennis players in the world.  She was Wimbledon champion in both 2011 and 2014.  Kvitova has made it to at least the quarterfinals of the other three Grand Slam events as well.  In 2011, she reached a high-ranking of number two in the world.  Overall, Kvitova has won 17 WTA titles.  She originally announced her presence on the international tennis stage by defeating then-number one Dinara Sarafina at the 2009 U.S. Open.  Two years later, she defeated Maria Sharapova in the finals at Wimbledon.  That year, she also won the WTA Tour Championships and helped the Czech Republic to victory in the Fed Cup.  In 2012, Kvitova made it to the semifinals of the Australian and French Open.  She is a Nike athlete and boasts endorsement deals with companies like Ritmo Mundo and ALO Diamonds.  She is also a global Athlete Ambassador for Right To Play.
