Sam Burns Biography

Sam Burns turned professional at the Sanderson Farms Championship in September 2017 after a dominant sophomore year as a college golfer at Louisiana State University. He was named the NCAA Division 1 Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year after a season where he won four tournaments. Burns was also the SEC Golfer of the Year and a first-team All-American. He was the champion of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional set the LSU single-season scoring record as well. As an amateur, Burns competed and finished tied for sixth at the Barbasol Championship on the PGA Tour. He also successfully captured the 2017 Palmer Cup with Team USA. Burns was a PING Honorable Mention All-American and All-Southwest Region selection as a freshman. He was the top-ranked junior golf recruit in the Class of 2015.
