Terje Hakonsen Biography

Terje Hakonsen is a professional snowboarder from Norway. He is best known for his domination of professional snowboarding during the 1990’s where he won multiple events such as the ISF World Championship Half Pipe, The European Half Pipe, and the Innsbruck Air and Style Contest. Hakonsen also owns the world record for highest air, reaching 9.8 meters during a qualifying event in 2007. Hakonsen is known for being a true innovator for the sport of professional snowboarding, ranging from his immense knowledge of tricks and his ability to ride various terrains. Hakonsen also was the main proponent behind the start of the Artic Challenge, which was the brain child of Hakonsen and Daniel Franck. This event was created in order to put more emphasis on the snowboarders, rather than TV executives and sponsors.
