Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a part time WWE wrestler and actor. Before his time in the WWE, Johnson played football for the University of Miami, winning the 1991 National Championship. After a failed attempt at a professional football career, Johnson was signed to the WWF (Later the WWE) in 1996, debuting as Rocky Maivia, but eventually changing his ring name to “The Rock.” Johnson would go on to have a legendary career as The Rock, instantly becoming a fan favorite and winning multiple championships. His catch phrases could be heard being echoed throughout each stadium he performed in, electrifying the crowd as “The Peoples Champ.” In 2002, Johnson left the WWE to focus on his film career, but would occasionally return off and on throughout the 2000’s. On 2011, The Rock returned for a showdown with John Cena, a dream match for WWE fans. After a year of hype, The Rock defeated Cena at WrestleMania XXVIII. Almost a year later at the 2013 Royal Rumble, The Rock defeated CM Punk to win the WWE Championship, eventually losing the title to John Cena is his last match at WrestleMania. It remains to be seen if The Rock will return to the WWE again, but if he does, he will certainly keep the audience as entertained as ever, and will definitely be a WWE Hall of Famer in the near future.
