Tim Duncan Biography

Few can match Tim Duncan’s accomplishments in the NBA. He posted a resume that is second to none in regards to big men, with 14 All-Star selections to go along with 14 All-NBA honors, 8 All-Defensive First Team and 6 All-Defensive Second Team nods, and the 1998 NBA Rookie of the Year Award. But that’s only the beginning. In 2002 and 2003 he earned consecutive NBA MVP Awards in route to becoming the Spurs all-time leading scorer. But it’s not all about personal accolades for Duncan. For him, it’s all about team and he has been the role model for San Antonio Spurs team consistency since joining them as the No. 1 overall pick in 1997. In 1999 he led the Spurs to the first of five NBA Titles, with the last of those five coming as recently as 2014. On the international level he’s been just as successful, leading Team USA to a Bronze Medal at the 2004 Olympic Games. To date, Duncan has averaged 19.9 points over his career with a 21.3 average in the playoffs. Off the court he’s considered one of the good guys, helping out the community through his numerous charities and philanthropic endeavors.
