Tim Salmon Biography

From 1992 to 2006 Tim Salmon was Angels baseball. Known as “King Fish” by Angels faithful, over 15 seasons he accumulated 299 homeruns and posted a .282 batting average while also earning a Silver Slugger Award and helping his team to a World Series title in 2002. In 1993 Salmon burst on to the scene by hitting 31 homeruns and winning the American League Rookie of the Year Award, and went on to become the Angels franchise leader in homeruns, runs scored, walks and slugging percentage. He also ranks second in franchise history with 1,016 RBI. In 2001 Salmon decided that he would retire an Angel when he signed a four-year $40 million contract and that’s ultimately what he did, hanging up his cleats in 2006 as one of the greatest players in franchise history.
