Victoria Azarenka Biography

Victoria Azarenka is a professional tennis player from Belarus who has found success at every level of the game. In her junior career, Azarenka had a standout 2005 season where she won both the Junior Australian Open and the Junior US Open. After turning professional, Azarenka continued to find success as she climbed her way up the world rankings by beating top tier players every chance she got. Along the way, she made it to a handful of doubles and mixed doubles Grand Slam Finals, including 2 mixed doubles victories (’07 US Open, ’08 French Open). In singles, Azarenka really began to succeed in 2011 with 2012 being one of the most dominant years by any tennis player. She began the year by winning her first major title at the Australian Open, she lost in a close finals match at the US Open, she won two Olympic medals (Bronze in Single, Gold in Mixed Doubles), and moved up to the World No. 1 for the first time. She returned in 2013 to defend her Australian Open title and fell in the final yet again at the US Open. She currently has a career record of 413-153 with 17 career titles to her name.
