Vin Baker Biography

Not drawing a lot of D1 looks out of high school, Vin Baker played his college basketball at the University of Hartford where he went on to set several school and conference records in his 4 years there. His best year came as a senior where he scored a total of 792 points (conference record), averaging 28.3 ppg. He finished his career with a school-record of 2,238 points and went on to be selected 8th overall in the 1993 NBA Draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. Baker was named to the NBA All-Rookie that first year and for the next four seasons, he made the All-Star Game as a member of the Bucks and later the Sonics. He ended his career in 2006 with career averages of 15.0 ppg and 7.4 rpg. Baker played for several teams throughout his 13-year career as a power forward/center and in 2000 played for Team USA for the 2000 Olympic Games where the Americans won the gold medal.
