Ward Burton Biography

Ward Burton had a highly successful career in NASCAR, racing in the Cup Series from 1994-2007. Burton's crowning achievement was winning the 2002 Daytona 500, but he collected five victories overall in the Cup Series career. He also had four wins on the Busch Series and notably led that circuit in poles in 1993. Burton comes from a NASCAR family, as his brother Jeff was a top driver and his son, Jeb, has raced in the Xfinity Series. After his career came to an end, he got heavily involved in conservation. Burton runs the Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation, has been a spokesman for Virginia's state parks and has served on the Virginia Board of Game and Inland Fisheries.
