Warren Sapp Biography

Warren Sapp may be the best defensive tackle in NFL history. Sapp was a seven-time Pro Bowler, four-time first-team All-Pro choice, and the heart and sole of the Super Bowl XXXVII champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His 96.5 sacks rank second all-time among defensive tackles. A member of the Bucs’ Ring of Honor and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Sapp was NFL Defensive Player of the Year with the franchise in 1999. In addition to his time in Tampa Bay, he also played four seasons with the Oakland Raiders. Sapp came on to the national scene as a star at the University of Miami. In the 1994 season, he was a consensus first-team All-American, winner of the Lombardi Award, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, and the Bill Willis Award. Sapp is the most prominent football alum out of Florida state power Apopka High School. His loud personality translated into a post-playing career as an analyst with the NFL Network.
