William Gay Biography

William Gay is an NFL cornerback and Super Bowl champion for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He has spent all but one of his eight seasons with the Steelers.  Gay won Super Bowl XLIII with the franchise.  While he has never started 16 games in a season, no cornerback has a current longer games played streak.  His only pro year away from Pittsburgh was with the Arizona Cardinals in 2012.  Gay recorded 57 tackles and two interceptions in 15 starts that year.  Originally selected in the fifth round out of Louisville in 2007, Gay played 46 games for the Cardinals.  In 2006, he was a first-team All-Big East pick and Louisville won the Orange Bowl.  He is outspoken about issues involving domestic violence.  When Gay was seven, his mother was shot three times by an ex-boyfriend who abused her.  Gay is originally from Tallahassee, Florida and went to Rickards High School.
