William McGirt Biography

William McGirt has been a professional golfer since 2004.  McGirt first joined the PGA Tour in 2011 after a second place finish at Q-School.  He has more than ten top ten finishes on Tour and two runner-up results at the Canadian Open.  At Wofford College, he was the 2001 Southern Conference Champion and also the SoCon’s Freshman of the Year in 1998.  The school inducted him into their Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010.  McGirt is from Robeson County, North Carolina and had his first golf lesson when he was 15 at Pinehurst.  He is active with several charities and serves as a Board Member at The Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational.
