Y.E. Yang Biography

Y.E. Yang is a major champion and one of the most successful Asian born golfers of all-time.  Yang came from two shots down on the final day to defeat Tiger Woods and win the 2009 PGA Championship.  He is the only Asian born player to win a major.  That season, he finished in the top ten on the Tour money list.  On the PGA Tour, Yang was also victorious at the 2009 Honda Classic.  2008 had been his rookie year on the tour after some success on the Asian and European Tours.  Yang was born in South Korea and did not start playing golf until he was 19.  He learned the game watching others at a local country club.  When he was relieved of his South Korean military service duties, Yang started working towards becoming a pro golfer.  He now lives in Southlake, Texas and owns an indoor golf range in Dallas’ Koreatown.
