Dallas Cowboys Icon Set to Share Insights on Making “Good Teammates” and Building a Winning Culture in North Texas
The Electronic Security Expo (ESX), taking place June 1-4, 2026, at the Irving Convention Center in Irving, Texas, has invited Dallas Cowboys legend Daryl Johnston to deliver the kickoff keynote as the General Session Speaker. The premier three-and-a-half-day event is open exclusively for electronic security and life safety professionals.
Johnston, nicknamed "Moose", is a former NFL fullback, three-time Super Bowl champion, longtime broadcaster, and football executive. A native of Youngstown, New York, he played college football at Syracuse University, earning All-American honors. Selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round (39th overall) of the 1989 NFL Draft, he spent his entire 11-year career with the team. As a bruising lead blocker and reliable receiver, he was a key part of the Cowboys' dynasty, helping them win Super Bowls XXVII, XXVIII, and XXX. He earned two Pro Bowl selections (1993 and 1994) and is remembered as one of the best blocking fullbacks of his era. Career stats include 294 receptions for 2,227 yards and 14 touchdowns, plus 232 rushes for 753 yards and 8 touchdowns.

“Daryl Johnston's genius wasn't in the spotlight - it was in making Emmitt Smith unstoppable,” said George De Marco, ESA chairman. “That's exactly the leadership mindset our industry needs right now. As security professionals face workforce challenges, evolving customer expectations, and pressure to do more with less, Johnston's insights on building trust and creating a culture where people take ownership will give attendees a practical framework they can apply immediately.”
