Miami football head coach Mark Richt's return to his alma mater has gone according to plan. With the success on the field, he has also become one of South Florida's most popular sports figures.
Richt will share what drives him as the keynote speaker at the YMCA of South Palm Beach County's Inspiration Breakfast. The event takes place on March 7th at 7:30 a.m. at the Office Depot Global Headquarters.
Proceeds raised benefit the Y's financial assistance program and their Drowning Prevention Initiatives. Last year, Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason Taylor spoke at the breakfast.
Richt went 9-4 in his first season with the Hurricanes and followed that up with a 10-3 campaign in 2017. He led the Canes to an Orange Bowl appearance and won the ACC Coach of the Year and the Walter Camp Coach of the Year Awards.
Richt established his reputation as one of the top coaches in America during a 15-year run at Georgia. The Bulldogs had eight top-ten finishes under his watch and SEC titles in 2002 and 2005.
Each year UGA won the conference, Richt was named SEC Coach of the Year. Prior to becoming a head coach, he served as an assistant for over a decade at Florida State.
