Soccer Sensation to Inspire the Next Wave of Female Excellence in Fresno

The Central California Women’s Conference (CCCW) announced soccer legend Mia Hamm, two-time Olympic gold medalist and FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, as this year’s keynote speaker for their annual fundraising event. The CCCW is the largest women’s event in the region and has raised more than $1.75 million to support local nonprofits serving women and children. Hamm will headline the 37th annual conference with the empowering theme, “Beyond the Goal,” taking place on September 15, 2026, at the Fresno Convention Center in Downtown Fresno.

Hamm, one of the greatest female athletes in American sports, joined the U.S. Women's National Team at 15 and earned 276 caps over 17 years. At the University of North Carolina, she led the team to four NCAA championships, boosting the popularity of women’s soccer globally. Hamm played in four World Cups, winning titles in 1991 and 1999, and took Olympic gold in 1996 and 2004. She scored 158 international goals, led with 144 assists, and was twice named FIFA World Player of the Year, making her an iconic speaker in women's sports.

This year’s theme, “Beyond the Goal,” highlights the CCWC’s mission to empower women to think bigger, push further, and build momentum toward a greater future.
