Three-Time Olympic Gold Medalist Kristin Armstrong Makes Appearance at PeopleForBikes Fundraiser

This week, Interbike week hit Las Vegas.  One of the major events is an appearance by three-time Olympic gold medalist Kristin Armstrong

From 6-7:30 p.m. today, Armstrong is attending PeopleForBikes annual Interbike BikesPAC fundraiser.  The event will be held at the CrossRoads room at the Las Vegas House of Blues.

There is a suggested contribution of $50.  PeopleForBikes is an advocacy organization that promotes bicycling and looks for ways to get more people involved.

Armstrong is coming off her third gold medal triumph at the Olympics in the women's individual time trial cycling race.  She won her first gold in Beijing in 2008 and was also triumphant in London in 2012.

In 2006 and 2009, Armstrong was also the World Time Trial Champion.  She is a four-time National Time Trial Champion as well.

Armstrong has raced professionally on the National Racing Calendar and the UCI Women's World Cup.  She did not focus specifically on cycling until her triathlon career was prematurely ended by a osteoarthritis diagnosis at age 27.
