Akshay Bhatia

The American professional golfer Akshay Bhatia has rapidly become one of the most promising young talents competing on the PGA Tour. Akshay Bhatia entered the world on January 31, 2002, in Northridge, California, to parents Sonny and Renu who migrated from India. The family relocated to Wake Forest, North Carolina when Akshay reached age 10 and he remains there to this day.

At age 17 Bhatia decided to become a professional golfer in 2019 instead of attending college to chase his PGA Tour aspirations. Bhatia started his professional career at the Sanderson Farms Championship in 2019 and has since obtained six professional victories including his PGA Tour wins at the 2023 Barracuda Championship and the 2024 Valero Texas Open. His Texas Open victory brought him the opportunity to play in the 2024 Masters Tournament after becoming the first Drive, Chip & Putt finalist to achieve this milestone.

Bhatia stands out through his elegant left-handed swing technique and remarkable ball-striking skills. Bhatia has represented the United States in multiple high-profile amateur competitions including the Junior Presidents Cup in 2017 and the Junior Ryder Cup in 2018 and the Walker Cup in 2019 where he became the youngest and first high school student to represent the U.S. He secured two silver medals during his participation at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics which took place in Buenos Aires.
