Allen Rossum proved to be one of the NFL's most dangerous kick returners during his career. Rossum initially became a standout at the University of Notre Dame. He set a NCAA record with nine career touchdown returns. Rossum was also a two-time All-American in track for the Fighting Irish. He became a senior captain in 1997. The Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the third round of the 1998 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he set team records for kick returns and kick return yards. After two seasons with the Eagles, Rossum spent two years with the Green Bay Packers. He had the most success of his career with the Atlanta Falcons from 2002-06. Rossum led the NFL in punt return yards in 2003. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2005 and won the fastest man competition. Rossum set Falcons career records for kickoff and punt return yards. He went on to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys before retiring in 2009. Rossum is a member of the 15,000 all-purpose yards club. He was the winner of the National Fatherhood Award in 2005.
