About Andre Ellington
Andre Ellington was an NFL running back originally drafted in the 3rd round in 2013 by the Arizona Cardinals. Ellington ran for over 600 yards in each of his first two seasons. He was on his way to a breakout season in 2014 before suffering a season-ending sports hernia injury. With 1,023 total yards during his rookie campaign, Ellington became just one of five Cardinals first year players all-time to accumulate over 1,000 yards. For players with at least 100 carries, his 5.53 yards per carry average led the NFL and was the highest number put up by a Card since 1960. In college, Ellington was a two-time All-ACC pick and finished fourth on the Clemson career rushing charts. His junior and senior year saw back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons. Out of high school, Ellington was ranked as a top 50 prospect by ESPN. His cousin, Bruce, also played in the NFL as a wide receiver.
