About Andy Bayer
Andy Bayer was a decorated collegiate track and field star. Bayer is an 11 time All-American and the 2012 NCAA champion in the 1500 meters. That win was the first outdoor track title for Indiana since 1993. He won six Big Ten titles. With a time of 3:52.90, Bayer ran the fastest mile ever for a native of Indiana. For the Hoosiers, he set school records in the 1,500, mile, and 3,000. From the start Bayer was a hit in Bloomington, taking home Big 10 Freshman of the Year honors. He signed with Nike in 2013 and moved to Portland. A run to the 2016 Olympics is in his sights and Bayer will specialize in the 1,500 meters, mile, and 5000 meters. Scholarship offers were originally hard to come by, but due to Bayer’s hard work and dedication, he overachieved coming out of Leo High School.
