About Angelique Kerber
Angelique Kerber was one of the best tennis players in the world over her illustrious career. Kerber reached number one in the world for the first time in her career in September 2016 and spent 34 weeks overall in that top position. She initially vaulted to the top of the rankings after a big summer where she won a silver medal in singles play at the Olympics while representing Germany.
During that 2016 calendar year, Kerber captured two Grand Slam titles at the Australian and U.S. Open. Two years later, she triumphed at Wimbledon. Kerber won 14 career singles titles.
