About Ato Boldon
Ato Boldon has been a fixture in track and field for over three decades. Boldon first competed on the Olympic stage for Trinidad and Tobago in 1992. He went on to medal in the 100 and 200 meters in 1996 and 2000. Boldon had a great deal of success outside of the Olympics as well. He became the then-youngest athlete ever to medal in the 100 m at the World Championships when he won bronze at the age of 21 in 1995. Boldon won NCAA Championships in both the 100 and 200 m at UCLA, setting a college 100 m record in the process. He finished his career in competition at the 2004 Olympics.
Boldon originally got involved in broadcasting while he was hurt during competition as a fill-in analyst for the BBC. From 2005-09, he covered the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships for CBS. Boldon started working events for NBC in 2007. A year later, he was the network's sprint analyst at the Olympics. Boldon was recognized for this work on the 2012 Olympics, becoming the only track and field broadcaster ever nominated for a Sports Emmy.
