About Ben McCollum
Ben McCollum is the University of Iowa's head coach for men's basketball. He brings a winning mentality and a load of experience to the program. An Iowa native, McCollum returned home in 2025 after leading Drake University to a 31–4 record, Missouri Valley Conference titles, and the program's first NCAA Tournament Round of 32 appearance since 1971. Prior to Drake, he spent 15 seasons at Northwest Missouri State, where he won four NCAA Division II national championships and earned five NABC National Coach of the Year honors. He is most notable for his ability to develop young athletes and men to create a great team culture. McCollum has coached multiple All-American players and conference award winners. Off the hardwood, he is committed to youth mentorship as he often participates in youth clinics and educational events. His leadership and journey make him a great choice to speak at events around the world.
