About Bernard James
Bernard James grew up in Savannah, Georgia and played his college basketball at Tallahassee Community College from 2008 to 2010 and Florida State University from 2010 to 2012. Prior to heading to college he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as a security forces specialist for six years, where he deployed to the Middle East in support of both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2012 the Cleveland Cavaliers selected the 6 foot 10 James in the 2nd round with the 33rd overall pick in the NBA Draft, however he was immediately traded to the Dallas Mavericks. James played the first two seasons of his career in Dallas and then saw time with the Texas Legends in the NBA D-League before heading overseas to play for the Shanghai Sharks in the Chinese Basketball Association in 2014. James is a great player on the court, with the ability to score and play defensive at a high level. His greatest attribute however, is his selfless service to his country to protect the freedoms of all Americans and people around the world.
