About Billy Kratzert
As a professional golfer, Billy Kratzert has played on both the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour. Before turning pro in 1974, Billy was a two time All-American for his college team at the University of Georgia where he was the standout star. The first two times Billy tried to earn a spot on the PGA Tour he failed, which led to him temporarily quitting the game. After eight months as a forklift operator Kratzert returned to golf and got his first PGA Tour birth in 1976 where he went on to win four PGA Tour events. His most successful years as a player came between 1977 and 1980 where he finished in the top 12 on the money list in three of those four years. Since the end of his regular playing days, Billy has moved to becoming a broadcaster as an on-course reporter for ESPN and Turner Sports.
