About Billy Mayfair
Billy Mayfair is a professional golfer and plays on the PGA Tour. Before turning professional, Billy won numerous junior golf tournaments before he even turned 15 years old. He was on the cover of Boys Life magazine and touted as golfs junior hotshot in 1981. He played for the Arizona State University golf team where he won the 1987 Haskins Award as the nations top golfer at the collegiate level. Mayfair turned professional in 1988 and has since gone on to win five events on the PGA Tour including the 1995 Tour Championship. He has been featured in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings and is the only person that can say he beat Tiger Woods in a playoff on the PGA Tour at the 1998 Nissan Open. Billy has also finished in the top five in both the U.S. Open and the Open Championship in his career.
