About Bo Pelini
Bo Pelini began his career as a player for the Ohio State Buckeyes as a free safety. There he served as a team co-captain before graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business marketing in 1990. After his playing career, Bo went on to become a coach at the University of Iowa as a graduate assistant where he began to build his resume and gain experience. After a stint with Iowa, Pelini coached for three NFL team before moving back to the college ranks. In 2008 Bo got his opportunity to be a head coach for the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team just one day after coaching in the 2007 SEC Championship Game. Pelini led the program to three Big 12 North Division Championships and the Big Ten Legends Division Champion in 2012.
After leaving the Huskers in 2015 with a 67-27 head coaching record, Pelini became the head coach at Youngstown State. He had several successful seasons with the Penguins, including a run to the FCS Championship Game in 2016. Following the 2019 season, he became the new defensive coordinator at LSU.
