About Bob Davie
Bob Davie has been the head football coach at New Mexico since 2012. After three down seasons, he led the Lobos into the New Mexico Bowl in 2015. A year later, Davie's team finished 9-4 with a win in the New Mexico Bowl over UTSA. Before arriving on campus in Albuquerque, he was a commentator at ESPN from 2002-2011. Davie gained the most notoreity by serving as the Notre Dame head coach from 1997-2001. Twice, he got the Fighting Irish to nine wins and a season ending finish in the top 25. Davie took over the position after serving as the program's defensive coordinator for three seasons. Prior to coming to South Bend, he spent several seasons on the defensive coaching staff at Texas A&M. Davie also coached at Arizona, Pittsburgh and Tulane. He first got into the business at a graduate assistant at Pittsburgh in 1977. Davie is a Pennsylvania native who played three seasons at Youngstown State University.
