About Brad Friedel
Brad Friedel is a former American goalkeeper and coach. He starred at UCLA, winning the 1990 NCAA title and the 1992 Hermann Trophy as the nation's top college player. Friedel earned 82–84 caps for the U.S. men's national team, appearing in three FIFA World Cups (1994, 1998, 2002) and starting all five games in 2002 as the U.S. reached the quarterfinals. He also played in two Olympics. In club soccer, he enjoyed a record-breaking 17-year Premier League career with Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur, setting a 310-game consecutive appearance record. He later coached and served as an executive, including a brief role as advisor at Beşiktaş in 2024. He was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2018.
