About Brandon McCarthy
Brandon McCarthy is a veteran pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Chicago White Sox originally selected him in the 17th round of the 2002 MLB Draft. McCarthy was considered one of the best prospects in baseball and named to Baseball America's 2004 minor league All-Star team. He made his major league debut with the White Sox in 2005. McCarthy spent his first two seasons with the White Sox before becoming a primary starting pitcher for the first time with the Texas Rangers in 2007. He had the best success of his career when he signed as a free agent with the Oakland A's in 2010. Over two seasons, McCarthy compiled a 17-15 record and a sub-3.30 ERA. He went on to pitch for the Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Yankees before signing as a free agent with the Dodgers in 2014. McCarthy has battled injuries while in Los Angeles, but posted a 6-4 record and helped them reach the World Series in 2017.
