About Cagla Kubat
Cagla Kubat is a native of Izmir, Turkey and grew up by the water. After earning her bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Istanbul Technical University she entered the Miss Turkey 2002 pageant and finished as the runner-up. Later that year she represented Turkey in the Miss Universe pageant. Outside of modeling she is a top-flight wind surfer. In 2005 she won the IFCA windsurfing European Slalom Championship and went on to surf for the Turkish National Team in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Prior to placing third at the 2012 World Slalom Championships in Spain she founded her own windsurfing called Cagla Kubat Windsurf Academy in her hometown. In 2013 she won the IFCA Masters Slalom World Championship in Alacati and finished the season ranked third in the 2013 World Cup. In addition to her successful modeling and windsurfing career she has also appeared on several popular Turkish television shows. A true extreme sports athlete, when she’s not in the water she can be found snowboarding, rollerblading, horseback riding and playing tennis.
