About Charlie Manuel
Charlie Manuel had a career as an MLB player and manager that lasted just over three decades. As a player Manuel played for the Twins and Dodgers from 1969 to 1975 before heading to Japan to finish his career. In 2000 he began his managing career with the Cleveland Indians and remained in that position until 2002. In 2005 the Phillies tapped Manuel to manage in Philadelphia. For the next nine years he led the Phils to unbelievable success, including a World Series championship in 2008.
