Chris Canty

Despite not picking up the sport of football until his junior year of high school, Chris Canty quickly excelled at the sport and realized he had a bright future with it. As a defensive end, Canty earned All-State honors and received a scholarship to play college football at the University of Virginia. At Virginia, Canty has a breakout sophomore season where he led his team and conference in tackles for a defensive lineman with 86 tackles. He completed this feat once again as a junior, improving his mark to 104. Despite his senior season being cut shot due to injury, Canty was drafted in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys where he earned a full-time starting spot at defensive end from 2006-2008. In 2009, Canty was traded to the New York Giants where he won his first Super Bowl in 2011. After four seasons with New York, Canty signed with the Baltimore Ravens where he started at defensive end in Baltimore’s stout defense.
