About Chris Osgood
Chris Osgood is arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the Detroit Red Wings storied history. The Canadian broke into the NHL in 1991 and managed to play for 17 years for the Red Wings with brief stints on the New York Islanders and the St. Louis Blues. Osgood finished his career with 401 wins which puts him tenth on the all-time wins list for a goalkeeper and is fourth on the list for all-time winning percentage. Of those wins, Osgood managed to win three Stanley Cup championships, two were back to back in 97 and 98 and his final came ten years later in 08. Osgood was the final goaltender in the NHL to wear the old-style goalkeeper masks and is one of six goalkeepers in NHL history to record a goal on an opponent. After retiring in 2011, Osgood stayed on with the Red Wings organization as an assistant coach for goalkeepers and in 2013 began his career as broadcaster for Fox Sports Detroit covering his former team.
