Chris Singleton was a promising center fielder coming out of the University of Nevada, after passing up on an opportunity to play in the Majors right out of high school. He skipped the first opportunity but improved his game and was selected in the second round of the MLB Draft by the San Francisco Giants in 1993. His first season was spent bouncing from team to team as he was traded from the Giants, to the New York Yankees, to the Chicago White Sox where he finally got a shot. After impressive numbers in the Minors, Singleton was given a shot on the main stage but never really amounted to anything. The highlight of his career came in 1999 when he became the first White Sock in over 15 years to hit for the cycle. After bouncing around to a few more teams, Singleton finally retired in 2005 due to a failed physical evaluation. After his playing days ended, Singleton became a color commentator for White Sox radio broadcasts before he jumped ship to ESPN as an analyst on Baseball Tonight. Singleton is still with ESPN as a play-by-play analyst for Sunday Night Baseball.
