About Chris Wingert
Chris Wingert is a professional soccer player who currently plays for New York City FC in the MLS. Wingert was drafted out of St. Johns University where he was a senior captain and winner of the 2003 Hermann Trophy, which is awarded to the nations top collegiate soccer player. Wingert started his MLS career with the Columbus Crew and has since moved to the Colorado Rapids until he was acquired by Real Salt Lake. In his MLS career, has won both an Eastern and Western MLS Championship as well as an MLS Cup in 2009 with Real Salt Lake. Wingerst played on numerous international squads as a youth and made an appearance for the US Mens National Team in 2007 in a match against Sweden. Wingert has made 236 appearances as a defender and midfielder during his 10 year year MLS career.
