About Chuck Melton
Charles “Chuck” Melton is an accomplished American wheelchair rugby player known for his competitive play with the United States national wheelchair rugby team. Hailing from Illinois, Melton’s life took a pivotal turn in 2002 when he was involved in a diving accident that led to a C7 spinal cord injury, significantly affecting his mobility. During his rehabilitation, he found his passion for wheelchair rugby.
He was a key member of the U.S. team at the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima, Peru, where he helped secure a gold medal. He was also selected for the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris. Melton and Team USA advanced to the gold medal match at the Games, ultimately earning a silver medal.
His perseverance and outlook have inspired countless audiences worldwide as he continues to shine a light on Paralympic competition and overcoming hardship.
