About Colt McCoy
Colt McCoy is one of the all-time college football greats and went on to a successful 12-year NFL career as a spot starter and backup. McCoy was a two-time All-American at Texas and ranks second in FBS history for quarterback wins. In his final season, he won several national awards, including the Maxwell and Davey O'Brien Awards.
As a four-year starter, McCoy's Longhorns teams never won less than ten games. They played for the BCS National Championship in his final year, coming up short in a loss, but he ended his college career with a 45-8 record.
McCoy was subsequently selected in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, with whom he played for three seasons. He was then traded to the San Francisco 49ers for the 2013 season and again to the Washington Redskins the following year. McCoy was a reliable spot starter for the Redskins over six seasons. He made seven starts overall. In 2020, McCoy signed with the New York Giants before finishing his career with the Arizona Cardinals.
McCoy was born in Hobbs, New Mexico. He is currently a college football analyst for NBC Sports.
