About Dan Benish
Dan Benish is a retired NFL defensive end who played five seasons in the league with two different teams. Prior to his time in the NFL, Benish got his start at Clemson University, helping the Tigers win the 1981 national championship. Following his graduation, Benish entered the 1983 NFL Draft, where he went undrafted, eventually signing with the Atlanta Falcons as a free agent. In his rookie season, Benish played in 16 games, but only recorded one sack and 2 tackles. Benish would go on to play four seasons in Atlanta, recording a total of 5.5 sacks and 10 tackles. His final season came in 1987 with the Washington Redskins, where he played three games but finished the season with two sacks, a fumble recovery, and two tackles. After that season, Benish decided to retire, ending his five-year career. He currently works as a patient counselor for Brightview Medical.
