About Danelle Umstead
Danelle Umstead is a professional alpine skier who currently competes for the United States Paralympics team. Umstead suffers from an ocular disability that limits her central vision and peripheral vision, making it even more impressive that she is such a fantastic skier. She got her start in 2009 with the United States team, winning four events at the United States Paralympic Alpine Skiing National Championships. In 2010, Umstead competed in her first Paralympic games in Vancouver, earning a third place in the downhill competition. Umstead still competes in various competitions, and has multiple medals including golds at World Championships and World Cup Finals.
