About David Carr
David Carr joined the Houston Texans as the No. 1 overall pick in 2002 after a standout career at Fresno State University. While playing at Fresno State he threw for 4,839 yards and 46 touchdowns during his senior year in 2001, and established himself as the top NFL prospect in the country. After signing with the Texans he played his first four seasons in Houston before landing with the Carolina Panthers in 2007. Over the next four seasons he played with the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers before retiring as a member of the Giants in 2012. During his career he was a member of the New York Giants team that won an NFC Championship and Super Bowl title in 2011. He retired with 14,452 passing yards and 65 career touchdowns. Carr was honored for his contributions to the Fresno State University football team by having his No. 8 jersey retired.
