DeMarcus Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins joined the Sacramento Kings as a first-round pick in 2010 after a stellar career at the University of Kentucky. Cousins signed with Kentucky out of LeFlore Magnet High School in Mobile, Alabama. While playing at LeFlore he was a McDonald’s High School All-American and helped his team to an appearance in the Alabama 6A Final Four. During his freshman season at Kentucky, he averaged 15.1 points and 9.8 rebounds a game in route to helping the Wildcats to an NCAA Elite Eight appearance. For his performance, he earned consensus second Team All-American, SEC All-Rookie Team and First-Team All-SEC honors and was named the SEC Rookie of the Year. The following year he joined the Kings and earned NBA AllRookie First-Team honors after scoring 14.1 points per game and ringing in 8.6 rebounds per game. Since that time he has become one of the NBA’s premier scorers, averaging over 20 points per game for his career. Cousins has also been selected to four All-Star games. After the 2014 season, he was selected to play on the Team USA World Cup team and helped the stars and stripes to a gold medal at the World Cup in Spain. Cousins played seven seasons in Sacramento before being traded to the New Orleans Hornets. He also played for the Golden State Warriors before joining the Houston Rockets.
