About Dermontti Dawson
Dermontti Dawson played his entire 12-year NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1988 to 2000. When he joined the Steelers as a 2nd round pick out of the University of Kentucky the Steelers had high hopes for the Lexington, Kentucky native, and he more than lived up to the hype. During his first seven seasons he earned Pro Bowl selections each year and also earned All-Pro honors in each of his first six seasons. By the time he retired at the turn of the century he was considered one of the best centers in the history of the game, earning a spot on the NFL 1990’s All-Decade Team and Pittsburgh Steelers All-Time Team. In 2012 his contributions to the game of football and the Steelers organization were recognized with induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
