About Derrick Burgess
Derrick Burgess spent a decade in the NFL dominating his opponents as a defensive end for the Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders, and New England Patriots. A native of Lake City, South Carolina, he earned All-SEC honors as Ole Miss prior to beginning his All-Pro career in the NFL in 2001. In the prime of his career he earned the NFL Alumni Pass Rusher of the Year award in 2005 after leading the league with 16 sacks. With 215 tackles and 52 quarterback sacks to his name, Burgess retired 2010 as one of the best players of the 2000’s. Since his career in football ended he has supported several philanthropic causes and lent his hand at many youth football camps around the country, always willing to give back to the next generation of young football players.
