About Derrick Favors
NBA forwardDerrick Favors played only one season at Georgia Tech University before heading to the NBA as a first-round pick in 2010. When the New Jersey Nets selected him with the third overall pick they expected him to be a dominant force in the paint and that’s exactly what they got, with Favors earning NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors in 2011. Midway through his rookie season, he was traded to the Utah Jazz where he flourished as a role player from 2010 to 2013.In 2013 he worked his way into a starting role with the Jazz and became one of the top performers in the league, averaging 13.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.Throughout the first nine years of his career, Favors was consistent for the Jazz and led them to four playoff appearances. He was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in 2019 and rejoined the Jazz the following season. In 2021, Favors was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
