About Diego Luna
Diego Luna is an American professional soccer star of Mexican descent, playing as an attacking midfielder or winger for Major League Soccer's Real Salt Lake and the U.S. Men's National Team (USMNT). Starting with Palo Alto Soccer Club at age 5, he joined the San Jose Earthquakes academy in 2015, then the Barcelona Residency Academy in 2018. Luna turned pro with USL's El Paso Locomotive FC in 2021, signing a record $250,000 homegrown deal with Real Salt Lake in June 2022. In 2025, Luna exploded: 8 goals, eight assists for RSL, earning MLS Young Player of the Year and All-Star honors. For the USMNT, he made his debut in 2024 and scored his first senior goal in the CONCACAF Gold Cup quarterfinals against Costa Rica. He's also a strong advocate for mental health through therapy and art.
