About Donnie Hammond
Donnie Hammond is a professional golfer who formerly competed on the PGA Tour but now currently plays on the Champions Tour. Hammond started his career at Jacksonville University as a member of their golf team, eventually turning professional in 1979. In 1983, Hammond joined the PGA Tour by winning a medal at the 1982 PGA Tour Qualifying School. Hammond recorded his first of two PGA Tour victories in 1986 at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, winning his second event three years later at the 1989 Texas Open. Hammond has amassed forty top ten finishes over his career, and has a best finish of 5th place in a major championship coming at the 1992 British Open. After a brief stint on the Web.com Tour from 1998-2007, Hammond started competing on the Champions Tour in 2007 where he currently competes today.
